Help Points

TDM offers interactive, multi-media and standard Help Points that use a variety of technologies; VoIP, GSM,

ISDN and PSTN, and can be supplied in a range of enclosures to suit the installation environment.

The ISDN Help Point uses standard digital technology, and can be used with both ISDN UK0 or UKs0.

The GSM Help Point is ideally suited for all applications where a fixed network connection is not available or where setting up such a line would prove too costly.

The VoIP Help Point is equipped with an Ethernet interface for voice communication to the operator and is linked to the Ascom NIS server. The audio is based on VoIP technology and the widely–used SIP standards for signalling and G.711 for encoding.

The PSTN Help Point uses a standard phone line or a PBX. With components connected via extended wiring, it also allows for custom mounting in virtually any application.

The Multimedia and Touch-Screen Help Points have an integrated PC equipped with either an Ethernet or a GSM interface for the data transmission from a centralised data server so that additional information such as, train timetable updates, tourist information, operator’s website, marketing etc. can be displayed.

Power Options – As an alternative to connecting to an electrical power supply, there is a solar power option on a standard Help Point and the possibility of using POE+ for the VoIP Help Points.

Telephony connection - In the simplest configuration any telephone (analogue or ISDN) or GSM cellular phone can be used to receive calls from the Help Points. On larger systems the use of a centralised unit is highly recommended and all Help Points can be managed through the Ascom NIS system.

Highly vandal resistant - TDM’s Help Points come in a range of enclosures that are robust, suitable for outdoor use and are the ideal way of providing information to customers in remote and unstaffed locations.

Hard of Hearing - All Help Points can be equipped with an Audio Frequency Induction Loop (AFIL) Amplifier which transmits acoustic signals to an induction loop for the hearing-impaired to receive the audio through their hearing aids, this facility meets DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) compliance.
